Travis Hartjen and Family

Travis and Tara met in Houston, Texas, when he moved from Nebraska to be a Youth Minister at the church she attended. After a few years of dating and after Travis finally gained an understanding of the cult that is Texas A&M, they were married. They moved to Austin, Texas, where Travis continued to serve as a Youth Minister and Tara was a school teacher. During their years in Austin, they began their family that now includes four wonderful children. In the summer of 2008, they moved to Frisco where Travis studied at Water’s Edge Church Planting Academy. During that time, God laid on their heart a desire to start a church in the Allen community. In the summer of 2009, they moved to Allen and have enjoyed getting to know the community and their neighbors. Go Eagles! (and LoveJoy Lions, as well). They love to BBQ with friends and neighbors and catch up on life over drinks and sports.

Jason Manthe and Family

Jason, and his beautiful wife Kamara, met at Concordia College in Irvine, California. Both of them have been teachers/coaches for the last eight years, with Jason recently making the transition from teacher to Chick-Fil-A. Jason and Kamara are blessed with three wonderful children: Matthew (3), Mya (3), and Noah (9 mos.). The Manthe family met the Hartjens while working at the same church in Austin, Texas. They are very excited to become part of a great community in Allen, Texas, and be part of God’s great plans for this city and Water’s Edge.

Spiritual Leadership Team (SLT)

Our Spiritual Leadership Team is made up of Men and Women who are committed to the Biblical Core Values and Lifestyles. They are by no means perfect and daily seek forgiveness, but they strive to be the type of person mentioned in 1 Timothy 3. The SLT is responsible for the direction and spiritual wellness of Water’s Edge Allen.
